UN Relief for Victims of Ethnic Clashes

The UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Libya, Georg Charpentier, announced that the UN will be providing relief supplies to the residents of Kufra, in South-Eastern Libya. Thankfully, the climate in Kufra is fairly calm. This is mainly due to a ceasefire between the Toubu and Zwai tribe.

However, at least 30 people have been killed so far, and the tolls are expected to rise. With this rise in violence in the region, Mr.Charpentier has taken notice. Yesterday, an inter-agency mission arrived in Kurfa to assess, monitor, and determine the humanitarian needs of the region.

Libya's intermi authorities are working towards mediating hostilities between Toubu and the Zwai.
